Libby Chow
Once upon a time, long ago, Libby Chow got a scholarship to study French Horn at an exclusive Melbourne high school. It happened to be the school next door to Clare and Tim’s. Libby was going out with one of their classmates, and she regularly snuck through the school-yard fence to see how the other half lived (she may or may not have been suspended for such activities). Her friendship with Clare was cemented on Clare’s seventeenth birth, when Libby appeared through the fence with a beautiful bunch of orange birthday Calendulas (and how she smuggled them over, no-one knows). They became firm friends, never actually playing music together until Clare invited Libby to join them on Autumn Bone. Lib dusted off the old French horn, taught herself every one of Clare’s unusual backing vocals (just for fun; no one knew she could actually sing), and revealed herself as the true professional she always was. Anyone who’s seen her in action knows that she now plays pretty much any instrument you hand her with seeming grace and ease. She recently became a first-time mother to darling Beatrice, who will be joining the Feeding Set on the road.
